“We are actively cleaning up the rubbish every day along the river and the river bank.

“However, there is no end to the clean-up if the problem of not solved at the source of the pollution, especially residual waste from domestic, commercial and industrial premises, construction sites and irrigation” he said in a statement.

He added that the part of the river that has waste is the exit of the irrigation canal and river banks near industrial premises.

Among the rubbish that are floating on the surface are polystyrene containers, plastic materials, rubber, paper, wood, sheet metal and construction materials weighing 50 tonnes per day which need to be collected and sent to the landfill in Jeram.
